Welcome to Forest Way Bunkhouse.

++++COVID-19 LATEST NEWS (updated @ 06/08/2021)++++

The Scottish Government recently confirmed that from Mon 9 August Hostels/Bunkhouses will be able to operate on an almost normal basis.  So we can have shared dormitory rooms again and public areas such as kitchen, lounge and drying room will now be fully open with no restrictions.  However, we appreciate some people will still prefer exclusive use of rooms so this option will continue.

Forest Way delivers quality Bunkhouse accommodation set in the stunningly beautiful area of the North West Highlands.

We are located nine miles south of the idyllic fishing village of Ullapool and offer a peaceful rural setting for guests.

The property is nestled between the Lael Forest Garden walks and the River Broom with an abundance of wildlife and delightful walks nearby.

The spectacular Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falls of Measach are just two miles away as well as the vast number of mountains and lochs.

    5 star review  Great little bunkhouse in a very convenient location for bagging loads of Munros and Corbetts :). Comfortable beds, a decent kitchen and an effective drying room. I've stayed a couple of times and will certainly return. Iain (the owner) is also an invaluable source of advice on hill routes.

    5 star review  I've stayed here twice now. It's a fine wee bunkhouse, comfortable beds, good showers and ideally located for plenty of local hills, with the Fannichs, Deargs and An Teallach in easy reach, and not too long a drive to get into those lovely Assynt hills. The owner is a keen walker and has a lot of excellent local knowledge. You also get a free beer. Highly recommended 🙂

    5 star review  Me and 2 friends bunked here for 1 night. Lovely little place surrounded by forests, very peaceful. You can hear the water flowing nearby which creates a tranquil environment. The owner, Ian is a lovely man. His family is also on the site who are also lovely people. The communal area in the bunkhouse was spacious and offered everything you need. Each guest room has an en suite with 4 bunks in each room. You can also rent these rooms so if you're with a small group you can create a private area. If I ever do the nc500 again I will stay here!

    5 star review  Iain and his dad were some of the nicest people we met on our trip through and round Scotland we couldn't have asked for more! The room we stayed in we paid a little extra for to book it out, it was very clean and tidy with a lovely drive area to sit outside. The area around this site should be considered an area of outstanding natural beauty. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!
